what are these?
Hi everyone,
I am not totally uneducated about cars, but there are many things I don't know. http://i8.ebayimg.com/03/i/02/44/f7/27_1_b.JPG Is this an air filter or an air intake. If it is an intake is it a cold air intake or a regular intake? I see these on many modified J's because I've read that they help in performance. Where can I get one if they are good to replace the OEM filter? and about what price range should they cost? Thanks, Geoff. |

Re: what are these?
well, as in cars you get what you pay for, but that's an intake filter and adapter (i have one) the idea behind "cold air intake" is basically that filter is shoved under the car towards the bottom with an extended piping to "suck in" colder air from the bottom (since heat rises) to help the car perform better. for true "Cold air" intake you would need two since there are two intake possibilities with the J30. i'm working on making one for my car, it's taking a little longer than expected since my bay is smaller than everyone elses and trying to get past the battery is a pain.
