Anyone got a Caldina GT?
I would like to hear about emission, how it handles and what may be the sticker price in Britain/the U.S.

I don't know if you get the J-spec ones where you are and I can't help with price but this may still be of intrest to you:
Available with a 5 speed manual or 4 speed Auto. Comes with Traction control(TRC), Vehicle stability control (VSC) 1440KG Kerb weight (1470 for the Auto version). 13.8 Sec 1/4 mile I haven't BEEN in one but I have seen and raced a few, they are VERY good looking with a kit etc and are DAMN fast!! Where on earth did you get the 13.8 1/4 time from?
They are quite common round here, and Iv seen at least 3 diffent engines in them. (all stock) But most common seems to be the 3stge, or a 4agze. But Iv seen a few N/A ones as well. A more acurate 1/4 time would be mid 16s, they are heavy, and with gears more set up for crusing then racing. Sort of Toyotas answer to the GT legacys for the Japanese market.

Emissions,
(this is a gtt anyway) Really good, (until you remove teh cadillytic converter) Handling, = Very good, although remember it is a wagon so the tail end can be a little happy, but then teh VSC and TRC kick in and take care of that and it still handles really well, much nicer at high speed than low down, as it doesnt have a very good turning circle. pulls right through the rev range and it upsets a lot of subaru drivers. no idea how much you'll be lookign for in britain |

Quite a bit has been found out since this post started age;s ago. Basicly they are quite expensive to get a lot of SAFE hp out of, they have a higher compression than the GT-4 & MR2 variants of the 3sgte & in turn don't like higer boost etc.
Here's a pic: I can go into more detail IF required but searchs on the net should show some great info. Cheers KiwiMR2

Hi i own a manual 1997 gtt caldina and yes they are very nice cars. They crank out 225 bhp 6000rmp on all four wheels and are incredibly fast. And wouldn't suprise me if they do do a 13 second standard 1/4 mile. The handling is pretty good except obvisouly they are wagons so are back heavy. they come standard with 15 inch alloys, 6 cd stacker, climate air con,
