I am the idiot that bought an extended warranty!

So, I was dumb enough to buy an extended warranty. But, turns out that I can cancel it by sending letter and an "odometer reading statement." The dealer is 600 miles away from me now and when I call they are pretty much jerks and won't answer a simply question: Who can write the "odometer reading?" The contract does not specify. Does it have to be a dealer service department? Has anyone canceled one of these useless warranties?

My 2 cents...I work in a dealer, I see the cost of repairs. Many times I see repairs covered by the extended warranty that exceed the cost of the plan itself. You didnt detail the vehicle you bought, but I assume it's a newer one. I also dont know the the warranty you bought, some are sketchy. Do some research before you cancel. I see these warranties save customers thousands of dollars every day.
