Cut sticks vs. after market?

Are cuting manual shifts recomended ? Does it perform well enough to offset buying an aftermarket one?:help:

no, cutting it is about the same. when you get an aftermaket one, the stick is shorter at the base for quicker ease of shifting. have fun! L@@K at maximadriver.com and there are some pictures in the how2 section. i think he has some comparison picture in there.
