Buying Tacoma, Advice Please
Trading in the Lincoln LS, owned for six months, mistake. Always have had a truck, thought I would be the good family guy and buy a car. It was my first Ford product, garbage. I am thinking of buying a 2001-2003 Prerunner with either the xtracab or the doublecab. I am buying in S. Florida, and these are going for $15,000 retail. The avg. mileage that are at this price is 38,000. What things should I look for while looking at the Prerunner, perhaps some specfic problems that face this vehicle? Can you offer some info on the extended warrranty, to buy or not? I have never traded a vehicle into a dealer, any tips on the bagaining?
Thanks for the help, Bill Getty |

well your definitley gonna get screwed on the trade in but other than that, things should be ok. As for the truck, just drive it and make sure everything sounds and looks ok and just ask for previous service records.

do not mention trade in until you get a set price with tax and license. 2nd you will probably be able to get an extended warranty, but i wouldnt because that normally to mush money. you could always take it to a mechanic. but if it sounds good and it has no wierd engine mods or been supercharged than 15000 sounds like a steal.
