looking for info on 2002 golf gti vr6

i am buying a 2002 golf gti vr6 and wanted some info on it. it has the 2.8l and says it has 30v with a 6spd tranny. i have never heard of a 3ov engine is it a volkswagen thing or is it a mis print. everything i see has 24v. anyway i was wanting to know how good this car is and if it is worth buying. it will be my firs volkswagen and first fwd car. any help is appreciated.

Re: looking for info on 2002 golf gti vr6

GTI VR6 never came with a 6-speed in U.S. (only early GLIs did). And if it is an '02, then it is 12v. Only Passats and Audis have 30v V6, VR6 is either 12v, or 24v.
