Fuel Pressure Sensor 1999 Mystique
I have diagnosed my issue to the Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor. It appears the diaphragm is blown. I can get the car to run fine by plugging the vacuum hose nipple and disconnecting the wiring but now the check engine light is on. I have tried Ford and every other parts house I can think of and I am unable to find a replacement Fuel Pressure Sensor. Ford says its a discontinued part.
Anybody have a source for a Fuel Pressure Sensor or a work around for the check engine light? Thanks 1999 Mercury Mystique V6-2540 2.5L DOHC getimage2.php.jpg Last edited by lionheartsails; 02-08-2014 at 09:18 PM. Reason: add image |

Re: Fuel Pressure Sensor 1999 Mystique
rhandwor,
I am NOT talking about the Fuel Pressure Regulator or the Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor. What I need is the Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor (Fuel Injector Pressure Sensor). Its a small plastic part at the beginning of the fuel rail and can been seen below the air cleaner. Its has a port for incoming fuel, outgoing fuel, and a vacuum hose nipple. It also has an electrical connector with 3 contacts. In the original post I included a picture. Here are part numbers I have come across, though some sites show the correct part, while others show the Regulator Part Number per Ford Dealer: XS2Z9F472FA AIRTEX / WELLS 5G1143 WELLS SU13803 / AIRTEX 5S12388 / CARQUEST 722809 Alternate/OEM Part Number(s): PR240, XS2F9F972FA, XS2Z9F472FA, XS2Z9F972BA, XS2Z9F972FA |

Re: Fuel Pressure Sensor 1999 Mystique
I Found One:
XS4Z9F972DA Ford Sensor - Fuel Injector Pressure on ebay from ford-parts-depot It appears to be working but have only put 5 miles. One thing that has happened which I don't think is related but began the first time I started the car after replacing is the following electrical do not work: Radio Key-less entry remote Side mirror remote Interior light The sensor that prevents you from removing the ignition key unless in park These are the things I have found so far. |

Re: Fuel Pressure Sensor 1999 Mystique
With a meter, I have have physically check all the fuses in the Power Distribution Box (under hood) and Passenger Compartment Fuse Panel.
Fuses 29, 31, 33, & 35 have no power on the (+) side of the fuse block (lower bank of passenger compartment fuse panel. Any Idea? I have looked over previous posts and have found issues with a wiring recall but that appears to be associated with earlier models. |

350287752994 The pictures show big fuse able links in the power dist. box. The other one is older style used by starter. With negative disconnected turn box upside down and look for corroded wires or connections. |
