Lamborghini 3 day event in August...

Hey, I just got an invitation to be one of 40 lamborghinis doing a three day driving event through Napa Valley California (wine country). There is lots more detail but I only got a fax so I dont have text to cut and paste. They are also featuring the first Gallardos. There are parties and dinners and wine tastings and mayors and celebs and lots of Lamborghinis August 11th through the 13th. Has anyone heard anything about this? :flash:

New default smiles. Thanks!

The privelege of doing this isn't exactly free...

$ 900 Entry fee per person (2): covers meals and hotels
$ 900
$1000 Ship car to Napa
$1000 Ship car home
$1100 Round Trip plane ticket to Napa(2)
$1100
-------
$6000 TOTAL (not including spending bux or ware and tear to the car)

I still wanna go. My wife thinks its a waste of money. (but she doesn't like the car in the first place.)

(off course, photos would be a must)

Tony,

Definitely not cheap but I guess it would be pretty interesting nonetheless. Just out of curiosity, what is your wifes opinion about the car. I am just wondering if it is the same non-sense I get about the motorcycles etc.

Luggage is actually fine. I pack pretty light. I can fit a couple small duffelbags and a notebook computer case no prob.

My wife thinks its a waste of money becase the car is so expensive and not comfortable. She views the attention that it attracts as negative and shallow. She also doesnt like that I like all the attention it attracts. She views the car as an icon of my imaturity.
What does your wife say?

Tony, let me know if you go, as I live in SF and might be able to go up if there is a public event. It must be for the wealthy, because it is on a monday to wednesday.

If it isn't public, by all means take some photos.

That is too funny Tony. I think it must run in their genes. Both my mother and my girlfriend swear that anything more than a daily driver is unecessary. Where as my father (owned two classic corvettes) and I surely feel that it is a must for a man to have "trophy" piece, something that he can stand back and enjoy.

I simply tell them "you have no passion". As far as the attention the car attracts, I think it is great. If that is a sign of immaturity, than I want to be the biggest little brat in the world.

I'm not in any hurry to grow up. What's the point?

So you can be a cynical old loony who yells at people to get out of the handicapped spots, of course.

Well thought out. This is a little coincidental, as I said this to my brother just the other day, but I hope when I become rich I won't be too mature to buy my Lamborghini.
