Though I don't want to get into that cost argument and what not, I'm pretty impressed with the fact that the Viper pretty much beat out whatever Ferrari it was competing against, even gave the Lamborghini a run on some of the events. Thats not bad at all for a car not even in the range of $100k+. Naturally that Lamborghini outaccelerated everything besides that crazy looking Mosler race car, I'd sure like to take that lambo for a spin. It's like hell on wheels.

The Motortrend shoot out is coming on in like 10mins on SPEED TV. I imagine it will be on all month.

I read this article last night, good read.
The mosler set a bunch of records and so did the viper. The murci was an overall great performer (as you would expect). They mentioned that they didn't include the sl55 because they had recently done an issue for it (sept 02 i think). They couldnt get the gt3 as they are not in the US yet. And they wanted to get an enzo, but all the cars were sold already. the saleen s7 was on a movie shoot, "Porsche was renewing thier press fleet just as our party was taking place and wanted to play, but it had no hardware to loan" so no 911 turbo. Suburu STi was not on sale yet in the US. and the DB7 GT was also tied up. They added the lightning because SVT asked them too (thats how i understand it) It doesnt really say why they dont have any numbers on the ford. I think its cause SVT just wanted the top speed test. This is my favorite . . . and I quote:
"Also noticethe Murcielago and the Viper would've sucked both scissor doors off the Mosler as they went by it just .1 second later, but between 13 and 15 mph faster." |
