Lotus 78, Tamiya, 1/20

Hi,

I took a small break over the summer, but now I have started again with something easy. I built the same 1/20 Tamiya kit 12 years ago, still without airbrush, no clear coat, somewhat translucent kit decals and visibles strokes from the paintbrush.
So I decided to build it again, this time with TABU decals (that were a bit brittle), some etched parts, Leukosilk belts, and some wires and hoses. I painted with decanted TS 14,29 and 6 and several Alclad colours. On top of that as always Mr. Super Clear.

Hope you like it.

That looks spectacular!
Always loved these cars, such a cool livery!

Lovely !
Would you take a picture with your former build besides ?
It would show to newbies that with work , willingness and experience, everyone (well, a lot at least) can achieve superb results

Do you polish the Super Clear or is it the immediate result after airbrushing ?

Thanks

I have an old photo here, but it looks much better than the car was...

I usually polish after the next to last layer of clear, and then airbrush another wet coat on top of it; it's not as smooth as polishing at the end, but it gives a deeper shine, without the micro scratches you might get after polishing. And the real cars don't have a perfect finish either
