Angry my car wont rev over 2500rpm

when i took my car for a test drive it ran fin. now that i have the car it wont rev past 2500

any suggestions will help

i'll put money on mafs. does it struggle at 2500 or just doesn't go?

it struggles to get past but doesn't go at all it hits 2500 then drops to 1400 and back up to 2500 and then back to 1400

Maybe the MAFS but doesnt a leaky intercooler do the same thing?

try plugs and wires(or coilpacks if its and sr)... my friends 240 had the same problem and plugs and wires fixed it.... if not then MAF

No. A leaky intercooler would just cause the car to run rich.
