All I can say is FINALLY, the Camry has some design flair to go with its practicality and reliability. Until now, I've had eyes only for the Maxima in this class, but the 2002 Camry has my head turned.

What I like most about the interior besides the metallic gauge cluster is the stand-alone NAV/AV system which seems to fit simply in the double-DIN stereo bay. You could probably use this hardware for other Toyotas as well.

On design alone, which would you prefer, the new Camry, or the upscale sister-car ES300 (Windom)? The nose treatment is similar, but a bit more radical involving the headlights on the Lexus variant. The rear of the Windom is a bit more subtle however.

It's too bad Toyota didn't up the ante in the power department for the sound V-6; they payed more attention to the high selling inline-4 cash cow and gave it some fair advancements. But with a carry-over V-6, I think I would still have to stay loyal to the Maxima, especially now that it's a real powerhouse.

Nice car! I'm really glad about the restyling, and that'll add a lot to already popular appeal.

I've had Toyota cars for 10 years straight now, a couple Corollas and a Camry, and they're the most reliable I've found! Great car!

i test drove a demo my dad's friend was using cuz his lx470 was in the shop... it accelerates hella lot quicker then the older ones... the i4 model that is. Very roomy and handling has been improved drastically.. kinda feels like the es300 kinda..
