GSX vs. 350Z
how would a 97 eclipse GSX fairly nicely modded, fair agains a stock 350Z.? I know the 350Z has more horses, stock but modded the GSX can push them out as well, but the 350Z is also lighter curb. wieght... and i don't think the 350 is turbo. There is just this spoiled kid around town that just got one and is talking mad shit, and i dont' wanna talk it back if i can't back it up.

um a GSX can take down a 350z with the right mods and quite a few of them. you would have to come up with a list of mods to get a realistic answer to your question. the 350z isnt untouchable but it is quite fast stock. but nothing a GSX cant take.

well...about 65% of those things have nothing to do with performance. sounds like one hell of a car though. i say it would be one hell of a race and you might be able to show him that his car is fast but not fast enough to think he can beat anybody who comes to the line with him. i dont know that much about the GSX and what kind of power gains you can see from the mods but im betting with those mods you should be able to hang with him of not take him. good luck. wait for someone on here that has DSM expertise before you take my word for gospel.

Re: GSX vs. 350Z
90-94 GSXs can hit 11's on the stock turbo, so yeah, a DSM can smoke a 350Z with just a few simple mods.

I just hate seeing him strutting around town, it bothers me so bad, and ya i know alot of them don't have to do with performance, but i just had it and copied it. sorry i was being lazy even if i have to spend a few more $ to mod it more, i just might have to.

No I think you got him...he'd have to have a supercharger or turbo to keep up...

Re: GSX vs. 350Z
.... Yeah Man I've actually beaten a 350Z, SRT4 and a G35 all in the same night with my 98 GSX, and I'm not too modded myelf. Just really good at AWD launch Gotta love AWD. Granted, each time they pulled like hell in third, but never enough to edge me out in the 1/4 mile. I managed to pull high 13's-low 14's in my car the way it is now. mods in sig.

Re: GSX vs. 350Z
It's ok...the Z and the G35 both look better than the Eclipse and can probably handle just a bit better

I agree they look good, but I love the way the 2g eclipse looks. I wish the same could be said for the 3g :

Re: GSX vs. 350Z
imo the 3g looks better than the 2g, but it doesnt compare with the performance of the 2g.

you should be pushing way more power than a stock 350z with the mods you listed if you are running higher boost. you have to remember 350z are rear wheel drive. they lose more power to the driveline and can't hook nearly as wheel. if you have the balls to launch hard you will dust this kid. i owned a 2g gst and have seen many 350z at the track. you will own a 350z if you set up was tuned right. what boost are you running?
