The Legend ! GPS
Getting ready to buy a gps, looking to buy a emap legend. Is this a good choice ? Mainly going to use it for navigation here in alaska while i am here. But also going to use it for my drive back to the lower 48 , the TEXAS area. If i use this can i safely throw away my paper map ?

Might want to visit the xterraownersclub.com forum about this, they've talked about the various Etrex models quite a bit.
Meanwhile, an excellent GPS reference site: joe.mehaffey.com Brent |

www.4x4books.com generally has very good prices when you decide which to buy.

Garmin Colormap Streetpilot
I just got mine off of Ebay for $350.00 with 16meg cartridge....That is about $200 lower than most of the online retailers!
It has worked great this weekend in Eastern Washington.
