oip pressure

i havwe a 94 b3000 truck with the 3 litre engine. does anyone out there know what the oil pressure should be in a fully warmed up engine at idle. i realize that the manual calls for 40-60 p.s/i. at 2200 r.p.m but i can not find anything for idle. i have very little faith in the stock guage from what i have read so i have teed it in with a mechanical one which shows about 20 p.s.i. at idle but i have no idea as to wheather that is good. there has been a new pump and bearings instaloed . thanks sam

Re: oip pressure

20 psi is a good number at idle especially if it comes right up to 40 psi or more at 2,200 rpm. I don't think you have much to worry about unless it drops below about 12-15 psi at idle.
