2004 Express RAP problem

Most times, but not all, opening the drivers door after turning off the ignition shuts down the RAP as it should. Occasionally it does not and I have to open and close the door multiple times. If I get out and open and close any other door the RAP turns off. This situation is particularly noticeable in cold weather. Am I correct in assuming that there is a switch in the drivers door that has become sluggish. I'm hoping to confirm my suspicion before I take the door apart. Any guidance would be most appreciated.

A good body capable scanner should read out if the door switch is on or off.

Re: 2004 Express RAP problem

Many thanks. I guess I'll just open and close a different door to shut it off until next year when I retire and the van will become someone else's headache.

Re: 2004 Express RAP problem

I've isolated the problem to sticky door switches. Sometimes they work right away, sometimes in a few seconds. The RAP timer always works after 10 minutes. Nothing I choose to worry about now that I'm sure the battery won't go dead because of it.
