help me out guys
can anyone with an sr motor tell me what rpm there car speed cuts at? in 5th gear that is...my car cuts a 5200...trying to see if its rpm based or speed based...becuase i feel like im at about 125 or so before it cuts (higher than stock 240 speed cut)? help me out guys

Put your car in 5th gear and rev the engine sitting still with the clutch in. If it limits at 5000 or 5200 or whatever then it is RPM based. If not, it is speed based.

well i believe they use both. i know for S13 KA's they cut off in 4th, 5th and speed.

Speed is easy to get around though. And the RPM should limit at a different time than the speed. The speed limiter slows you back to a certian speed before it allows you to begin accelerating again. The RPM limiter keeps you at a certian RPM by harshly cutting fuel. Very rough feeling.

It's thee little computer things taht take out the rev limiter and speed limiter. Speed Cut Defencer and Fuel Cut Defencer.

btw...for the older people here that read my post about my speed sensor idea...i'll find out this weekend if its a rev limiter or speed limiter...then i'll let you know whats goin on...
