92 NX1600-need your opinions
I'm in desperate need of a vehicle and am currently looking at an NX1600 5spd with 121k miles. The interior/exterior is clean with only some minor rust on the door bottoms. I drove the car and it runs great, the engine is very quiet. I don't know anything about these cars and am in desperate need of reliable transportation. Your thoughts will be greatly appreciated. Is the 1.6L an interference engine? How difficult is changing the timing belt/chain? How about the clutch change procedure? Is this a reliable transmission? Thanks again for all your input!!!!

Re: 92 NX1600-need your opinions
Timing chain will outlast the engine internals, normally the engine will last about 200,000 miles before it needs a rebuild. Very strong engine design called the GA16DE.
Clutch is easily changed, about 3 hours from start to finish. Transmission is very strong too. Quite a few people have turbocharged this engine with stock transmissions.
