Unhappy bad smell my car is making sometimes

Smells like plastic is being burned - toxic odor
I am now using synthetic oil in my car that burns a little oil - hope that is all it is and not some wiring frying somewhere!

Re: bad smell my car is making sometimes

If the burning smell starts when you turn on your air conditioner the potential reason could be due to the dust is burning off, but it should go away within a few minutes. Another possible reason could be your air filter is clogged which causes a burning smell.

I would also suggest that you should visit your trusted auto shop to further check the situation as this might also cause by some short circuits or worn electrical connections to your car's system. Hope this helps!

Check your AC
Check your Air Filter
Check under the backseat if there is something wrong
Check the wiring

And in Last go to your auto mechanic
