A-arms knockin away, need help
I just got my new rims and tires installed as well as my Ingalls camber kit (+1.25 to +3 degrees -- set at the 1.25 position). I raised the coilovers some to make room, but my a arms are still hitting inside the fender. Ive done some research but can't find any pics of WHERE or HOW to cut the inner fender well to make room. I need to push the control arms out another .5 to .75 degrees or so.
As far as I can tell, there's nothing else I can do other than raise the car up more, bringing it back to stock height (which is just not an option). Are there any downsides to cutting the inner fender well, or is their some other way to fix this problem that I missed? Thanks!

maybe a diff. type of camber kit, i remember seeing a post somewhere which had a couple diff. types of camber kits, one of which actually move the a arm out of the way.

i had a problem before with the same thing. they just sanded down the edge of the a-arm. not a lot though, maybe 1/8" at most, luckily it didnt take much for mine. and i think the kit tominos was talking about was the skunk2 kit, but they dont make it for our car. it would be great though, cause they dont move the arm out, they just have a sliding joint.
thats why i havent gotten coilovers yet. i want to lower the front more, but any adjustment with my current kit, ingalls also, will definetly create that knocking again.

well judging from your pic, your riding at almost the exact same height as me... maybe a smudge of an inch difference. I was thinking about grinding off that extra 1/8 of the a arm off, cuz its not vital, and I think thats all I would need.
this looked like it would solve the problem as well: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=1872767550 too bad I already bought the ingalls kit, plus I've never even heard of these before.

ive seen those before on their site, but ive never heard anything about them quality-wise. ill probably end up getting those down the road if i ever switch to coilovers, since im as low as i can go without knocking.
and lemme know how the a-arm goes. if i were to switch camber kits to that specialty products ball joint, would that get rid of possible incorrect toe? since there is only one centered joint to adjust, would it always stay even?

you need an alignment to correct toe in. If you switch out anything in your suspension, even camber kits, your supposed to get an alignment right away.

ok, in order to fix your a-arm knocking situation, your best bet is to cut a whole in the engine bay to allow clearance for the movement. if its not that bad then you wont need that big of a hole. i had that same problem, and i researched it and every 4th gen accord i found, they had to do this to their car. its pretty much between your strut and the top of the fender, you'll find a flat spot, and thats where you perform your surgery. No, it hasnt caused any problems for me. although i now have two holes, but you can find some way to dress it up, either with plexi-glass or just a rubber grommet. the only way that i can think of that you can get away with grinding down the edge of your a-arm is if you have super stiff suspension with a low travel rate. the choice is yours, choose wisely young jedi.
