Transmission Problem

I have a 2000 4cyl Ranger i think it has the 4R44E transmission. The transmission only has 25K miles on it. It was a re-manufacturer put in by a local shop. I do a lot of my own work but just never got into transmissions much.

I am having intermittent issues. It has been sticking in second gear. When its acting up I only have reverse and second. The O/D light is not on. I checked the computer and there are no transmission codes.

I am able to get the transmission to shift again by changing from natural and drive a few times. After it starts to work again it shifts just fine up and down. Eventually it will stick in second again after stopping for a light or slowing down almost to a stop. It does shift into O/D but I don't think the torque converter is locking down in O/D.

I think it could be a shift solenoid but not sure.
