You might be better suited to to an internet search with google. If your thinking of converting your FWD to a RWD, my advice is dont even thing about it, youll get flamed or something.

Wink

yes, the SHOgun was rwd, but the engine was in the back, with a transverse FWD tranny mounted to the rear wheels. Converting a Front engine festiva to rwd would be way more trouble than its worth. If anything, convert it to a SHOgun..........

Way more trouble than it's worth?

To who? You? Or someone who lacks finances? equipment? skill?

Don't get me wrong, these are legitimate reasons to factor in if it's worth doing or not. But only the person contemplating the project can make that call.

And then, there are cases where they proceed with the unconventional, finish, and become disappointed with the results.

They can either learn from the experience ( improve future builds ), or sum it up " it wasn't worth doing ".

9 times out of 10 when a person says the latter ( from having derived personal experience ), it's because the project was poorly engineered and executed by themselves, rather than the criteria of which end contains the driven set of tires.

There was one Fetie that I am aware of that was front engine rear wheel drive. It was a custom job and it was a Prostreet car. Had a 350 smallblock wedged under the hood. It sold on EBAY 2 years ago. The only other one is the Shogun but only 5 of them were made by Ford.

If Jay Leno owns a Shogun, then a rear engine rear drive festiva is definately worth it. A friend of mine is working on an 89 L with a Taurus engine, transaxle and crossmember mounted in the rear. 3.8l, automatic. We're still working on a few design bugs, but should begin building in the spring.
