What do you think about the Lincoln Mark VIII??
Hey Guys!
I am new to this awesome forum, and I was wonderin' what your oppinions were on the 1994 Lincoln Mark VIII. I have one but I am interested in seeing how much people know about them and possible upgrades that you have done. Anyway....let me know...later! |

great chassis and engine. Very good to work on. Not too crazy about the air suspension though and they head is very hard to work on. There is a set of headers made for the MK VIII (I used to be really interested in buying one). you can also swap on a set of cobra heads and cobra intake manifold and get over 300 hp

Yeah, the engine and chassis are both top-notch. With a stiffer suspension and a manual transmission, it'd be a potent grand tourer.

I've always liked the way the look, but an SC400 would probably make me happier. or a BMW 328i E36 Coupe.

Sorry about that! I didnt know where to post it because I was going to ask people to compare it to other cars... but where is it going to be moved to? Ok. Awesome! Wow I didnt know people responded so fast to posts! Yeah I know that some of the newer cars are a lot more reliable like the Lexus SC 400 but hey....I got the car for 5 grand and I was interested in what the general oppinion was about it. Which brings me to my next question...what other cars are there that are close in comparison to this car? And if you want to add your about what modifications would you reccomend and why. Thanks!

Re: What do you think about the Lincoln Mark VIII??
How many miles you got on yours? Ive converted my entire suspension to coil overs and springs on the back. Im sure a new intake and better exaust would be an excelent 1st upgrade. Then if possible find a shift kit and cobra injectors, intake manafold, exaust headers, and maybe an ECU upgrade. Other then that your gona have to start getting pretty deep into the engine to get more power. And NOS is just stupid.

yeah...I know that NOS is just plain dumb for a naturally asperated engine and I was actually thinking about putting a new exhaust on it this summer. Does anyone have any suggestion on a kind of exhaust to put on a 1994 Mark VIII and how much it would cost?? I was thinking about a flowmaster system....is that a good one...I have no idea on this so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks again! Sam

Ive never seen on any web sites a bolt on kit for the M8 so it might have to be customized to fit. Ofcourse Im positive there is a kit out there for it, I believe you get straight pipes coming out the back with it. No clue what its called.

Hey Guys, I'm new here, shocked that the M8 Forum is not bigger comparatively to other sites out there. I have a white 1998 and I love it... 103k miles... I'm doing the Exhaust TOMORROW! So Excited.

Re: What do you think about the Lincoln Mark VIII??
I blew the doors off an SC400 the day I baught my black '98. Felt good too because I couldn't ever touch him with my Grand Marquis. I love my MkVIII but I wish it had a 4.5" bolt pattern so I could run a better variety of wheels. And Dual exhaust would be supreme.. It didn't come stock on any MN12 chassis car, which is just sucky. Guess they couldn't have it being faster than the Mustang Cobra. Look at Thunderbird and Cougar forums because anything those guys can put on their cars, we can put on our mark VIII's.

I like mine. I don't LOVE it. I have had a few problems with it, and it still needs some work. I use it as a "daily driver". I don't think I would ever buy another one. Maybe that will change once I have everything fixed. Only time will tell.

Re: What do you think about the Lincoln Mark VIII??
I like the style very nice indeed i wish i could find one in good shape around here most of the ones around here are kinda rough and pricey. Next time i'm car shopping i'm gonna look for a mark 8 with low mileage i know there has to be some around her

I really like the Mark... The Interior in it is just unique. I have a Deep Jade green one and a white one...i got the green Mark from the original owner with over a 150000 miles on it and still purrs like a kitten. I like to drive it out of town while the Town car is specifically for the night on the Town.
