The Blow off valve (BOV) is on the turbo charged cars. They are used to release the air pressure out of the intake system when the throttle is closed quickly. They help control boost response and extend the life of the turbos.
The reason that they are on manual cars is because the VR4 (GTO) only comes in a manual. Never pay again for live sex! | Hot girls doing naughty stuff for free! | Chat for free!

I just made the leap that we are talking about 3000GTs here. There are no turbo powered automatic 3000GTs (from the factory). Never pay again for live sex! | Hot girls doing naughty stuff for free! | Chat for free!

Re: Blow Off Valves
Yea i just got wind of a cheap 91 VR4 and i was woundering should i just stick with the SL because im gonna go to the legal drag strip and the awd section is gonna be hard to beat (thay run the 1/4 mile at low 11s). but the 2wd is way eazer (they run at high 13s). so would it be eazer to get my SL to run 13s or the VR4 to run 11s
Thanx |

i'm gonna go with vr4 to 11's cause a sl runs like a 16.5 and to get it down to 13's with no turbo is gonna be hard, with the vr4 turbo upgrade bc intake dual bov exhaust clutch trans, i guess either way its gonna take some pretty change.

Re: Blow Off Valves
You could get a VR4 running high 11's with about 6 grand... That's also assuming you can install everything yourself.

Dr650s
660cc MAFT Fuel pump re-wire BOV Stage 2 Heads DP y-pipe That'll run you about 6K... (I couldn't tell you about installing price b/c it depends on the place) You don't need the Stage 2 heads unless you really want mid 11's. There are other combos you can do, that's just a quick one I made.... Check www.dynamicracing.com for more information on their different stages. |
