-AND "Some people just jealous that some parent do care and love their kid" <- couldnt be further from the truth, my parents care and love me very much, they bought me my first car, but i payed them back in full, they just didnt want me to deal with APR's and $hit. My father CARES enough to help me Mod my car... but i pay for every ! -So i will leave you with this, i wouldnt go around making assumptions about other peoples family, you may just hit a nerve with the wrong person. |

Re: How many of you girls buy your own cars?
ok, well seeing as this thread wont die ill offer my two cents.
I like to think of myself as somewhat well thought of on this forum, i know cars better than most, am very well read and practiced on engine theory and design, turn all my own wrenches, and was a chevrolet technition. specificly a corvette specialist, electronics expert, and driveability analist. In short, i know more about cars, and am far more experienced in working on them, than most people who are on the forum. Im not saying this to be cocky, im saying it to make a point. i havent bought any of my three cars. the RS was a gift for getting good grades in high school. the RS got totalled, i took the insurance money and bought the IROC, spent my own money fixing both up to new condition. My cousin died, i handled the situation at his house so his mom wouldnt have to, and as a thank you she gave me his Jeep Wrangler. So the fact that ive been "Given" not one, not two, but three cars says exactly what about me as a person???? Personally i think jealousy is ugly, in all its forms. You all condemn people for receiving cars as gifts, that makes you all hypocrits because youd have to be some sort of dumbass to turn it down, and everyone here knows it. even if you were going to accept it, just to sell it and go buy what you really wanted. thats alot of money. Even if you were going to just aim at the kids that are so spoiled that they demand their parents buy them a car, and choose the most expencive thing, and then think they are cool because they got it, why not just be happy for them that they were in a position to take advantage of it. and then walk away knowing that they are ugly people on the inside, taking advantage of their families like that, and knowing youre a better person. Frankly these threads depress me, theres so much more to this than people make it out to be. cant we let it go, and stop bitching about other peoples good fortune???

Re: How many of you girls buy your own cars?
haha he have to cut and paste to proof his point. Well buddy dont get frustrated and have a sezier or a heart attack at this thread, just an opinion. Well i bought a car too, then my parent. Nothen u can say about that. yea imma pay my parent back, cuz i be the only one who will take care of them till they're old. So u can hate all u want, but im still going to fix it up with my money, plus im saving for ///M3. Two car so i can spoil myself, one given and one just sweat hard earning cash. Nothen wrong with that homie, so you should by now get the hell over it! you just lost this conversation and need to read other thread to fix your bucket. Dont hate on me, just hate this thread. KAPISH!!!!

I think you need to re-read what i wrote, cuz u obviously didnt get my point, the only part of your post that bothered me was when u made the statement that if a parent buys a car for you, that means they care. Which isnt true at all. And as far as me "hating" on you, wrong again, i was simply making a point that its not a good idea to start talking about peoples family when u know nothing about them. And as far as u getting all defensive on me, Ill be the man and apologize if i insulted u, that wasnt my intension.

Re: How many of you girls buy your own cars?
I bought BOTH my cars, AND my motorcycle myself. I also pay for all my parts, and do most of the work myself.

Nice job 89IROC&RS. I will add to your statement and say that once you are given something, whether it is something as expensive as a car or cheap as a mechanical pencil, in the end it is how you treat the object. If you take care of the car, it shows that you appreciate it and value it. If you don't lose that mechanical pencil, it shows that you care enough to not to lose it. My first car was a 1977 VW Dasher. Most here probably never heard it. I got made fun of a lot, but I took pride knowing that if anything went wrong, I would know what to do, that's when I showed my friends up. Not by what I drove, but how I took care of it and understood how the car worked. Hell, if my parents were rich, I'd be asking for good $hit too. But I'd take care of it too.

Re: How many of you girls buy your own cars?
Well if you pay for your own car you definitly appreciate it more. Just my opinion. I really don't have anything against people that had their parents buy them their cars but once you start bragging and all that shit about your car than thats crap.
