Fuel Filter

I really want to change my diesel filter but the priming pump shown in the workshop manual is not there!
If I replace the filter, do I need to bleed the system and if so how, or will it be OK to just start the engine?
Please help!

Fill the filter bowl wit ha can of diesel injector cleaner when you fit the new filter. Then just crank it over on full throttle - it'll soon self bleed and clear out the injectors at the same time
