b2000 smoking first thing in morning

i have a 87 b2000 when i start it first thing it smokes white smoke for a little while then stops. doesnt do it again all day. is it the egr valve or valve guides in the head?

This is a common problem for the valve guides on your head. It happens to almost every 2.2 at about 120,000 - 140,000 miles. You can call 800-942-4503 to pick up a rebuilt for about $275 plus about $20 for shipping

Usually white smoke is a result of a blown head gasket that lets a little bit of rad fluid into ur cylinder head. Does the smoke smell like antifreeze or is it bluish in color and smell like oil? That will usually tell u which problem u got. BJ

WHite smoke in my 86 B2000 turned out to be the head gasket.
