Re: 2000 echo code p1440 help

The code description is as follows:
1. P1440 Purge Valve Stuck Open
2. P1446 Evaporative Vac Solenoid Circuit Malfunction
The third code is not concerned with Toyota vehicles.
To solve the problem which is associated with these two codes, (the third one will automatically be deleted after correcting the above two codes) please do the following:
Open the hood and seeing from the front side of the car, look at the right hand side of the air filter box. There you would see a vacuum switch attached to the side of air filter box. Look at the vacuum pipes if they are attached firmly and are not damaged. If they are found in good condition then look at the harness wiring connector attached to the same switch. Examine carefully either the connector is detatched from the switch or one of the wires of this switch is broken or the contacts of the connector have poor connection. Please do the needful and then go to the next following instruction.
After repairing/replacing the wire take the key off the ignition cylinder and remove the nagative battery terminal for 30 seconds or more. Tighten back the terminal, hold the steering wheel in center position, swith off all the accessories (radio, tape, cd/dvd, parking lights, room light etc.) start the engine and hold the throttle at 3000 rpm to relearn the idle speed control valve to its default value, till the radiator fan comes on. Immediately the radiator fan comes on release the throttle pedal and leave it at idle position for 5 minutes or more and then switch off the engine.
CAUTION: BEFORE REMOVING THE BATTERY TERMINAL MAKE SURE THE FREEZE FRAME DATA WILL BE LOST AND VARIOUS OTHER SYSTEMS LIKE CLOCK, MAPS, DOOR WINDOWS AND ANTITHEFT SYSTEM MAY REQUIRE TO BE RELEARLNED AGAIN.
Since the above codes are concerned with the evaporative system, and after repairing the car is expected to be normal. If not then consult a competetive technician with the required facilities to solve the problem.
