Question First Time Car Modeler - need some help

Hey guys,

I could really use some help here. I'm a 3d modeler, but most of the stuff I've done is sci-fi. And, a friend has asked me to build a 3D model of a 1979 Oldsmobile Cutlass 2-door coupe, but with all of the changes that he wants to make to a similar car that he's rebuilding.

For starters, I can't seem to find any decent schematics or blueprints of the car to use in Max for reference. I managed to find an old Advertising poster from Oldsmobile of the '79 Cutlass, but it's a small image, and will probably distort badly in Max, but, if I have to use it I will.

Secondly, can someone point me in the direction of some good car modeling tutorials? Most of the tutorials I've found just help me to texture the thing, but I'm not that far along yet.

Any help would be appreciated!

Re: First Time Car Modeler - need some help

I thought this was a pretty good tutorial for getting an idea of modeling a car, it's a fiat 500 but it gives a good idea. Hope this helps. There are a few other car tutorials on that site too.
Edit:

Haha the link would help.
