Red face 99 Durango 4wd 5.2L

Hey ya'll. First thread and brand new at it. Need some info if anyone has some, please. Checked out the similar threads and nothing there related. My son was helping me change the water pump and in the process of draining the coolant from the radiator the drain plug came completely out. I have tried to replace it and have had no luck at all getting it to twist back in. Didn't want to break something so I tried to find something on the internet. No luck there either. I'm almost outta options here and need a little help. 63 years old and done maintenance all my life. Not really a dummy but I am stuck. Anybody out there who has a good fix fer me?
