Lancia Delta S4 Modeler's 1/24

So the Lancia Delta S4 kit by Beemax is available now, and some of us built it yet. Congratulations to Barraca for his wonderful model, which he shows here:

http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul....php?t=1154102

Unfortunately built without any cabling, or (oil) hoses & fittings.

Now I want to show you not the new Beemax model, but the old one made by Modeler's in 1999. Some of us may remember those kits made of resin, white metal and PE-Parts, very expensive, and a lot of work to do since very often parts did not fit together, were bent etc.

I built this kit some years ago out of box with some improvements:

Wheels (rims only) by Ken of Japan.
Headlights taken from Hasegawa's 037.
Taillights & Mirrors taken from old Esci kit Lancia Beta Montecarlo.
Antenna by Sakatsu.
Figures by GF Models.
Rivets (on rear windows) by Hobby Design.
Fittings, hoses and cabling in the engine room.

The kit was offered with Decals for Monte Carlo 1986 version, but since I wanted to build the 1985 RAC car I had to do the RAC-Decals by myself and to alter the wing on the roof too.

Hope you enjoy the car.

A look - or two - into the engine room:

The wheels by Ken used for my car are of a very high quality:

With regards

Stefan

Another nice build Stefan! I really like your subtil wearthering technique which makes the car more realistic. Great choice of the '85RAC Rally which was the first victory for Toivonen with the Delta. I also have Ken's transkit and the wheels, especially the front wheels are way better than the Beemax with its over-accentuated section. I still plan to build Ken's kit since it is very nice, althoug I already have the Beemax kit. Do you have some interior and some extra engine room photos?

No, unfortunately I do not have any (more) photos of interior or engine room of my model.

The interior I built oob from Modeler's with some improvements at the dashboard (Dashboard in kit was same as in their 037 kit), and I added two door panels which were missing in this kit. But since you want to build Ken's transkit and not the Modeler's kit, maybe you don't have to do those improvements.

Regards

Stefan

Very nice build !
Has anybody ever seen a side by side comparison of one of the old resin kit with the Beemax one ? I think the dimensions and the global shape are quite different ?

Perfect build! There should be narrow tyres for a winter race though.
