ok, no other VQ engine in no other nissan is the same as the 350Z's! why? because they are in deed the same, but they are not made of the same material. the 350Z's VQ35 is made mostly of aluminum. the G35, maxima, etc. are made of iron i think. so the 350Z VQ weights less, and slight differences make the 350Z VQ superior to the other VQ's

by the way, id take a artic white G35 on brembos...

who cares? and even with that weight decrease, 350Z is still 3200lbs heavy. me not amused.

All VQs are aluminum, going all the way back to the 1st gen VQ30DE that made its debut in 1995.

The VQ-series V6 made its US market debut as the VQ30DE powering the new for 1995 4th gen Maxima.

The VQ might have been released earlier than that in Japan, but I'm not sure.
