Packard Twelve to be put in Production
But will it make it? Stay tuned.
I know nobody likes double posting so I guess I should just link to my original topic. I hope this doesn't piss too many people off I just don't feel like typing or risk double posting the same exact post. Enjoy |

Interesting.
I don't like the styling, but some of it sounds cool. I've heard Cadillac might make a big flagship car by 2010 or so. Perhaps something like the 2004 Sixteen concept would work except without the 1,000 hp V-16 engine. |

Re: Packard Twelve to be put in Production
The main thing which I see is great about this car is the fact that finally someone assembled a lightweight aluminum frame for a sedan.
The funny part is right before finding this car, I was reading an editorial article on Road&Track in which the author complained how motorcycles were constantly becoming lighter thanks to using lighterweight matierials while assembling tubular frames: While in contrast a majority of cars, or at least slightly more practical ones, still sit on solid steel chassis that haven't drastically changed in over 20 years. Then aftwards I came accross this V12 powered AWD sedan that sits on an aluminum chassis using hollowed out cross bars. That coincidence peaked my interest in making this news post worthy. |

Re: Packard Twelve to be put in Production
Hi...
A google search turned up this thread; i have the original rubber floor mat for a packard (50's vintage) that I can't bring myself to throw out. Is this something a car restorer might want? Thanks for the help! Giana |

Re: Packard Twelve to be put in Production
Well for that item you can either go to the Packard forum or even here not to mention the muscle car forum and somebody there would be able to point you in the right direction.
Thanks for replying, there must be few google hits for Packard then. |
