2016/2017 Mustang Ecoboost vs. V6

I am currently in the market for a new car. I am looking at getting a Mustang but a V8 is out of my range.

What do you know about the Ecoboost compared to the V6?

The Ford Mustang is a performance machine and not an eco friendly smart car - if that is what you want then get one of those but a Mustang should be bought for performance not economy.

I have read a lot of warnings from Ford mechanics that they have worries about the Ecoboost after it goes out of warrantee. Dirty valves and no good way to clean them easily. All the older easy methods could ruin the small turbo. Doesn't instill much confidence.
