is there a place, either on this board, or on the web, that i can find a wiring diagram for my jimmy? i have tried search engines, with no luck. this seems to be the best source for auto repair that i have found.

what do you need a diagram for. More specific. not just the whole car in general.

Re: 2000 Jimmy wireing diagram??
i want to try to figure out what i need to bypass, or jump, in order to be able to start the engine by putting it in gear, and letting the clutch out. right now, the engine will roll over, but it will not start. so either the ignition or the fuel injection is being stopped from functioning for whatever reason the engineers wanted. i have no problem with fixing any problems that arise, as they do. but i really do not want to have to pay an off road towing bill because a starter solenoid went bad, and the vehicle can not be started without using the starter motor.

Re: 2000 Jimmy wireing diagram??
The reason it won't start is because the fuel pump relay is only activated for ~2 seconds when the ignition is initially turned on. If the PCM does not receive a signal from the crankshaft position sensor during the 2 seconds, it deactivates the fuel pump relay. If you turn the ignition on and immediately dump the clutch, it should start. If you need a complete wiring schematic for your 2000, PM me and include your email address.

Re: 2000 Jimmy wireing diagram??
thanks old master, i will give that a try. also, after having the fuel pump trouble, i now carry a jumper wire in the engine compartment fuse box to jump the fuel pump if i ever need to. the one thing i hate is being stranded. much less stranded out in the woods, where i spend a lot of time.

Re: 2000 Jimmy wireing diagram??
yes, we do. then add to that, that i am disabled, and on a good day, can walk about one mile. if i could afford it, i would, as my dad would say, " jack the radiator cap up, and drive a new car under it"!

Re: 2000 Jimmy wireing diagram??
With regards to jumping the fuel pump.... are you aware of the single, female terminal in the underhood fuse panel, just in front of the fuel pump relay? In the fuse panel it splices to the grey wire that feeds the fuel pump. You can apply battery voltage to it and bypass the relay.
Have you tried dumping the clutch just after turning the ignition on?
