Tough to understand your post, but lets see, you have spark, but weak? Will is start spraying some carb cleaner or starting fluid into the intake?

Do you have good spark, sounds like no, take a look at the cap and rotor.

Re: 1999 gmc jimmy that wont start

yep, i have the same problem, except i did a fuel pressure test and it came up good. new crank sensor, ignition module, cap, rotor, plugs and wires! after disconnecting the battery i get a cough and sputter but no consistant spark... i'm thinking of moving inside, maybe the passlock security system?

Re: 1999 gmc jimmy that wont start

I also have a 1999 Jimmy. Fuel pump replaced, good pressure, 64 lbs, fuel filter replaced, have spark, rotor & cap replaced. Some times it will fire right up, other times, it just putters and turns at maybe 100 rpm and stalls. Befroe pump replacement, sprayed starting fluid to get running, not it doesn't matter if I spray it or not, wont even try to fire. HELP!

Re: 1999 gmc jimmy that wont start

Just tried starting Jimmy again, now it's firing, trying to go but won't. Noticed Ignition module attached to coil is so hot you can't touch it! Firing sparatic, turning very low rpm and bucking. Timing chain ok! So here's the kicker, went out after work today & it fired right up! This si what I've been dealing with for a month, no one can seem to find out why and NO codes. I know tomorrow, it will be back to the same not starting again.
