Re: How many miles do you have your Isuzu?

I own two troopers. 1988 TrooperII with 215,000 miles. Runs perfectly and 4wd works great! A little (ok, a lot) rusty above the rear doors but is a great beach vehicle. Outer Banks N.C. Second is a 2000 trooper limited. 105,000 Miles and suddenly transmission problems! Looks like Ole' Red is coming to work with me tomorrow.

Since I just rebuilt the engine, I get to post again!!!!
I lost oil pressure at about 136000 and rebuilt motor with new short block and valve job (DOHC). I kind of enjoyed it but VERY expensive. I must like the Trooper because I spent the money....LOL.
I never drove a new one but it definitely has got some more power now!

Re: How many miles do you have your Isuzu?

Mileage:160000
Any major problems:
Starter at 120,000, air cond compressor at 150,000. Oxygen sensor at 16,000 replaced under warranty, Rear driveshaft seal replaced twice at 100,000 and still leaking. EGR valve at 88,000 put the old unit back on at 140,000- check engine light went out and stayed out. Must have been dirty. Intake gasket at 80,000- i was going to sell it and used silicone in the break without removing anything- still holding. She goes through brake pads every 15,000-20,000 miles- replaced the complete set of cailper supports twice. Seems like they rust the caliper pins and this doesn't allow the calipers to return to postion even with silicone grease and new bushings.First time I bought them from Isuzu. Now Advance has them for 8.00 each fronts and 16.00 each rear. Just an FYI- got 228,000 miles out of my 1986- had to start it on starter fluid towards the end. Some minor problems but this is a great truck.

2000 Trooper, head cracked @ 37K mi, AC comp about 40K, now has about 55K.
New pads/rotors/shoes around 35-40K mi, but I do use it to flat tow my Toyota rockcrawler sometimes.

Welcome to forum, WHICH sending unit?
Including the engine and transmission info when you post will help get more replies. Post as a new thread as well.
