044 up for auction - Bonhams Quail Lodge 2017
Any guesses on what it will go for assuming it will meet reserve?
http://www.bonhams.com/auctions/23977/lot/73/ The photos at the end with the US conversion pieces laid out in relative position on the car are pretty neat. |

And if you want to see the highest res pics, use this link:
http://images2.bonhams.com/image?src...jpg&width=1600 You can change the # before the jpg up to around 166 I think to get them then it repeats. The one I posted is -1.jpg so change it to 2, 3, etc. This one has to be my favorite: http://images2.bonhams.com/image?src...jpg&width=1600 |

Re: 044 up for auction - Bonhams Quail Lodge 2017
I've heard rumors the Reserve will be set at $15M, but I'm not certain that is accurate.
I think to the right collector, this one with all its original bits, seemingly no stories, and single-ownership should command a bit more than that. It doesn't have time-capsule-level mileage which will be a negative to some, but frankly I would rather have a car that has been used fairly regularly and is well sorted. I'll be there for the sale - let me know if anyone else plans to be around. >8^) ER |

Despite the impeccable history this car had prior to its Monterey arrival, I've been informed that it was damaged today at the Bonhams tent when another car rolled into the front right corner. No photos or solid report of the exact damage that occurred, but it has been taken by transporter to a local shop so they can try to repair it before the auction.

Holy cow! How does that even happen with such a star lot?! If someone is to blame, their job surely must be no longer. Hopefully for everyones sake it was a freak accident like a parking brake failed or something along those lines.

Well now I'm hearing it was an awful joke and they only took the car away for a smog check. Hopefully that is correct as it would be a shame to have something like that hinder their result.

Hopefully that's true and not a fake story to cover up an actual incident.

I'm not sure they could actually get it to pass smog anyway - California is a very tricky state and the other F1s that have achieved that here have neeeded a more intensive process than your local smog check service station can offer.
Talk of multiple buyers with serious interest for the car - maybe exceeding $16M if we are lucky tomorrow. >8^) ER |

$15.6...wow. Too bad I didn't win the Powerball last week. It did pass the smog test by the way: https://instagram.com/p/BX6p-WRhHwf/

Public sale records are all that really count, even though the details of those can also be manipulated.
But to your point, yes - this is not the highest price ever paid for an F1. >8^) ER |

XP3 is Gordon Murray's car, right? I just can't believe he sold it.
