check out suzukiaerioforum to see the solution to this problem. A user there has posted wiring information to deal with the DRLs.

Reason for wanting Daytime Running Lights Off
My reason is that at night they are on, but not the tail lights. Many times I forget to actually turn the headlight switch on cause the lights are already on. Luckily no accidents yet from being rear ended because someone couldn't see my ass end.

Re: how can i turn off the daytime running light???
I want them OFF on my Aerio SX too because too many nights the lights are already on and I forget to turn the headlight/tailights on. NO HEADLIGHTS on means NO TAILlights on.

DRLs
I hate them!! Too many times driving away at night you forget to turn on the headlights which includes TAIL LIGHTS. Dangerous feature, Someday I expect to get rear ended because of this

The answer to your prays
Open your glovebox and pull it down past the rubber stops. Look up and to the left and you will see a silver box with a wire harness plugged into it. Unplug the harness. That's it.
The only other function that becomes disabled is the little dummy "BRAKE" light that comes on in your dash when you pull up on the parking brake. But if you want to see that light for some reason, you can add a jumper wire to the red/black wires inserted into the harness. The 2 blue/white wires are for your headlights, while the other 4 red/black control your brake lever light. But without cutting wires, or splicing anything, this is the easiest method for disabling your DRL's, and can quickly be converted back to stock in less than 30 seconds. |

Re: how can i turn off the daytime running light???
If the switch is installed, turn it off, if not, the DRL will remain lit untill the car engine switched off
