Check tire light

The check tire light has been on since I bought the car.
I thought it was just the sensors that needed replaced so I decided to wait and have them replaced when I replaced the tires.
Yesterday I took the car in to have the tires and sensors replaced and the mechanic said that the sensors were good.
He even tried reprogramming them.
The correct pressures are being reported, yet the check tire light stays on.
Does anyone have any ideas?

Re: Check tire light

Is this the process he used?

Chevrolet Equinox (2007 - 2009) TPMS Reset Procedure
GM-17

1. Turn ignition to the ACC position.
2. Press and hold unlock and lock buttons on the keyless entry transmitter until horn sounds and left turn signal is illuminated. Or using the DIC, press and release INFO button until TIRE LEARN message is indicated on display. Hold down SET/RESET button until horn sounds and left turn signal is illuminated.
3. Starting with LF tire, increase/decrease tje pressure until the horn sounds.
4. After horn sounds proceed as in step 4 for the next 3 sensors in the following order: RF, RR, LR. After completing LR tire, horn will sound twice.
5. Turn ignition to OFF position to exit vehicle learn mode. Adjust all tires to pressure listed on tire placard.

Re: Check tire light

I wonder how TPMS is supposed to work with an actual, REAL utility vehicle. I've deflated the Wrangler DTs to 22-24 pounds off-road. I'm sure a TPMS wouldn't like that, but also wouldn't get out to help you get moving in a wet field.

BEST TPMS:

Re: Check tire light

I followed these instructions and they seem to have worked yet the light is still on.

Their spare tire doesn't have a TPMS sensor in it.

There isn't much else to suggest unless you can retrieve and post the DTC causing the light on here.

The only suggestion I would have is to remove and re-seat all the fuses and ECM/BCM plugs.

Also, I don't know what sensors you had installed, but sometimes aftermarket/non-OEM sensors can be problematic.

Re: Check tire light

I just thought of another possibility. Are you having any trouble using your keyless entry remotes? If so, then you may have an issue with the Remote Control Door Lock Receiver.

If this is the case, I would check for blown fuses first. If that checks good, I would disconnect/reconnect any plugs going to the remote control door lock receiver. I wouldn't be surprised at all if that fixed it.

The receiver is located in the cabin in front of and below the right rear window under the C-pillar. You will probably need to remove a couple panels to access it.
