Tire and wheel clearance

Ok, I got offered a real nice set of new tires from a friend for dirt cheap. Their 225/60/16's Bridgestone potenza's. The only thing is I'm not sure if they'll clear the struts on the front. Anyone know??? Thanks. 1994 Base model.

Thank goodness they are 55's. These cars would look dumb with lo-pro tires on 16's. I could fit my Civic in that wheel gap then.

They would probably clear, but they would throw your speedometer and your mileage recording way off. If you want 16s, try to stick with either 225/55/16s or 245/50/16s

Thanks Hotshot and Wishmaster for your reply's. I went to Wal-Mart and had a friend mount a 225/60/16 on my front rim and it won't fit. The spring pad is to low for proper clearance. Thanks again guys.

Re: Tire and wheel clearance

Stock size for a SL is 225/55/16. You could run 245/50/16 for a wider stance.

If you have 17" rims you would run 245/45/17.
