96 Windstar 3.8l speedometer cable disconnect.

Hi guy I'm sure this has been possibly posted already but I have a question. My cluster lights are slowly starting to go out. Now I have all the trim pieces removed dash bolts out. I know the speedo cable runs from the back of speedo thru firewall to are connector of some sort and to the Trans I believe. I can see the clip but have no idea how to take it apart so I can get the speedo out. I read the repair manual not very clear. I red Google posts I watched numerous YouTube videos. Thank in advance.

You have to squeeze the "connector" on the sides. I don't remember which right now, but you either squeeze at the two holes on the side or at the two solid areas on the side.
