Security system problem?
Does anyone know how to disable (or over-ride) the security system on a 1999 Grand Cherokee? The engine turns over but just won't start. I have ruled out the fuel pump and I'm now suspecting it's the security system. Any suggestions will be very much appreciated.

Re: Security system problem?
I had to override the system on my '95 XJ, I locked the drivers side door manually inside, shut the door, then unlocked it with the key. hope this helps you.

Re: Security system problem?
There are some good write ups on Jeep forum about this. There are differences in years. our 98 GC Limited 5.9 uses a remote that has to be programed with a computer. The earlier GC you could program them with the key. As for the WJ I have no idea. Remotes & security systems seem to go together.
You might do a search here. There are some great write ups on several things here. either way you will have to search. |

Re: Security system problem?
Sounds more like the crank positioning sensor then a security issue.
