Re: Porsche gt1 evo 1998

btw the decal sheet is very nice. I will probably reprint it in alps.

Does anybody have a good image of the Gt1 le mans tag the have on the roof ? (near to opening door line)

also the wheels can be the same of the 97 revell kit.

Re: Porsche gt1 evo 1998

here enclosed are pics from Cursa Model.
Not too bad as a starting point...

as u can see, this is pure resin slot. With a pencil I've marked the first modification I shall make to this mould.Nothing impossible, surely a good challenge...

The wheel base of the Porsche 911GT1 98 is 2870mm or 113inches.

Re: Porsche gt1 evo 1998

Does decals from Cursa slotcarmodels look very nice from the picture. I got a original Modeler's kit without original decals and would like these decals.

Where did you get the kit? (I have no visa card and cannot buy from them.. Very few sites with cursa models accept American Express or paypal..)

Re: Porsche gt1 evo 1998

I waited a lot to have the kit. Think they prepare theme after an order (and getting money). The decal sheet looks very nice, still at today really dunno how accurate it is on the car.

Re: Porsche gt1 evo 1998

Hi,

donŽt get me wrong, but looking at that resin body, IŽd send it back.

It looks like copied copy and the last mold was already at its end before your issue was produced.

Just the front hood, not smooth, you see the texture of GFK, mirrors at the body, frontlights, panel-lines that cannot deepened because of the thin body - lots of your pencil markings are just a hint, that the body is far from good to make a display-model out of it. Maybe some slotters may use it for driving, but a body kit price of 62 Euro compared to that quality - no, youŽd better wait to find a good model in ebay.

Re: Porsche gt1 evo 1998

naah..I would like to try it.U know when u like a model and u ANYWAY want to have it?..thats my story here. The body will be drilled all over to remove all the crispy parts, the shape of the car is anyway convincing. I am not scared...will try it
U are right when u say the mould of this model was already dead since long time before they sell me mine...LOL, internet buying is a thrill sometimes.

Is a challenge, what encurages me is the deep use of plastic kits accessories I can have here (both from tamiya, revell and UT).At today...without this model, I cant think to do it.

Re: Porsche gt1 evo 1998

found some spare parts saved from a model done in another life: front and rear lights from gt1 evo.Think it was revell kit. This parts are surely nicer than vacuform provided in the kit.

I purchased your Merc model back when it was available. Overall it is a nice casting and built up extremely well. There were, however, two things that were incorrect. In the instructions, the rear wing uprights that come out from the body which are shown in the photo copied built-up images are backwards. The upper section on the uprights are shown facing the wrong direction. Anyone building the model using those directions will have ended up building it incorrectly. The second issue, and perhaps the most problematic are the screens in the back. Maybe the pattern maker at Profil didn't take his meds that day and as a result, botched the measurements on the two P/E parts and the recesses they go into. The measurements are way off. All you need to do is remove the two P/E parts and place them on top of each other and you see the huge difference between the two. Hope you manage to fix those two issues on your kit, otherwise, if you do come out with anything new, I hope that the crispness of the casting is as good as the Merc was.

Paolo, are you still looking for GT1 Evo'98 by Modeler's? I'm selling one – will post it on eBay soon.

I don`t know what it is, but the body is no modelers body. The modelers sidepanels behind the wheel arches are white metal, the body had no gurny flap and three buckles in front of the window near the wiper. Mike

Re: Porsche gt1 evo 1998

Mike,

Thanks for your comment!
Maybe it's some kind of re-issue or something, because the decals and PE-parts are marked as Modeler's or it's a mix of several kits.

Here are detailed photos:

Re: Porsche gt1 evo 1998

Hm, after looking at this page – http://www.automodelista.org/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=4922, I think that I have ScaleProduction version of 911 GT1, but nonetheless it's a beautiful kit!

Re: Porsche gt1 evo 1998

thanks for the pix, the aluminum parts and the decals (DMC) are from my old kit, but not the body and the small resin parts, also not the instruction, tire bag and PE
