Question Should my 93 325is have a remote?

I recently bought a very used (in ok condition but a little heat damage from being in AZ) 1993 BMW 325is. I can't find a remote fuel door release to open it from inside the car, nor do I have a button to unlock the doors. To add to that, I can't find a replacement for the remote trunk release button that would fit in the little rectangular hole in the left side of glove box.

My question is, do these cars come with a keychain remote to activate these items? Or would an owner of this "driving experiance" have to manually lock and unlock both doors each and everytime?

It should work this way, car locked, door is locked, car unlocked, door is unlocked.

Re: Should my 93 325is have a remote?

well I was kinda thinking it worked something like that. When I bought the car I was surprised to see the doors unlock when I used the key to open the trunk. Some time later all the windows, locks and interior lights (minus the map lights) stopped working around the same time. While repairing my windows I found fuse #7 had a VERY thin break. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=921283

Still doesn't help me know if I should have a key chain remote though. Do you, or anyone know anything about if these where standard??

Do not believe that your year/model had a key chain remote.
