96 Vision Front Wheel Bearing

I am replacing the front wheel bearing on my Vision. This looks to be a case of simply removing the 3 bolts that hold the bearing in place. Unfortunately, I am finding that there is a ribbed metal ring that surounds the drive shaft as it enters the bearing. This ring appears to be part of the anti-lock brake system. There is a sensor that looks at the ribs as the shaft turns.

My problem is that this ring is blocking my access to the bolt heads. My questions are; 1. Can this ring be moved out of the way without damaging the ring or 2. Anyone have any suggestions??

Oh, I have tried the socket with a universal attached. While this is the lowest profile socket I can find, the ring still prevents it from being put on the bolt head. Also the box end of my wrenches will not access the bolt either. The "open" end of the wrench can only access the two side bolts but, due to age I am certain the bolt heads will start to strip.

Thanks
