1984 trans am

HI I am new here but hope I can get some help and answers, I have a 1984 trans am I have kept it in my garage for 10 years.It ran well when I parked it, but I know it needs some things done before I can start it I do not want to cause any dammage, as it is in really good shape, stock except rims and tires as the original ones were really ugly, It has no rust and looks like a new car. im rebuilding my 305 and it wont turn freely after i torque the rod bolts to the crankshaft but will if i dont tighten two of the rods whats going on with it
