1990 astro tilt steering wobbly - need help
I have a 1990 chevy astro. 4.3, 144,000 miles w/tilt wheel and it's loose, moving up, down and sideways about 1/2' or so. What and how do I fix this? Is there some nuts to tighten and how to get to them or need new/used steerung column? I looked underneath the dash and found column but nuts were tight and it seems the tilt is only moving and it's indside the column tube it looks like. It was an AWD but I took the front shaft off because it was making noise and now it don't. I didn't know if that would mean a difference in repairing it or not. I hope this is enough info for you to possibly help. I'm handy at fixing cars but need advice on this one. I do volunteer coaching and mentoring so I need to get this fixed asap. Is there anywhere on the internet where I can find a free video or directions to fixing this?
Thank You and have a blessed day! Bob |
