J30 snow tire suggestions?
Hi!
I just bought a 94 J30 with 45k miles. I need snow tires/wheels and would like to learn from the experiences of other J30 owner with tire brands and wheel types used. I am not a car techie and never had a rare wheel drive car before. Thanks in advance. -J30 newbie |

Re: J30 snow tire suggestions?
For snow, the higher and narrower, the better traction, a requirement the salesman laughs. He wants to sell you the widest and most expansive floats on earth [he does not need to push you up the hill]
GoodYear now, I like them except the round 'shoulder' which does not give too much sideways traction. Handmade a groove around on the outer edge - it did make a real change. Generally the more open the pattern is, the better traction. Read test magazine results, often they're good, but they do not test the less known cheaper ones [can be even better than many, like Kelly Wintermark]. |
