How many miles on J30s? When timing belt rpl?
I wonder how long my J30 will last.
I know it depends on the car and the maintenances and stuff, but... In general... I have 108K miles on mine now. Also, When did you replace your timing belt? I know I am due for mine, does J30 engine gets destroyed if it breaks? I am a newbie on this car, so. Dan |

On the '95, you're supposed to replace the timing belt every 105K miles.
Since the J30 has an interference-type engine, if the belt breaks, it will almost surely cause engine damage. Carlos |

well i have 130 on mine.. changed once at 120 (right before i bought it) don't change it until u know it's time or till a mechanic says so.. cause that's an easy 500+ dollar repair...

belt in good shape
My mechanic showed me the timing belt he replaced. The belt was still in great shape. I replaced it at 109K miles.
I'd say that belt could have lasted another 50-60K miles w/o any problem. I guess the manufacturer really try to stay on the safe side. Especially if the engine is interferring engine design. |

I replaced my timing belt around 109k. i thought the belt looked fine, but then the mechanic told me it was bad, had hairline cracks all arounf the leather belt, so was ready to go at any time. Also at that time he replaced the water pump and something else. came out to around 700. but now car is running nice and should run good for another couple of yrs. I have a 93j30
